Designer to the stars – Jason Porshe’s resort collection is inspired by ancient Greek mythology, hence the title kairos and chronos
which in summary and simple parlance means a supreme or opportune
moment
that can be suspended through a time lapse, which is almost like
an exact indication of what this collection critically embodies. If not
so, how else would you explain the presence of trench coats in a resort
collection? – If not as a clear indication of the designer seizing his
resort collection as an opportune moment to incorporate trench coats
which are generally Fall wardrobe staples. Again, this draws us back to
the meaning of kairos and chromos—a supreme or opportune moment that can
be suspended through a time lapse, only in this case, instead of a
lapse the designer went for a fast-track.
Greek mythology or not, opportunism or not, resort or not – Jason Porshe
has finally and once and for all surpassed expectations with this
properly tailored collection. He infuses so much vitality into the often
so predictable suit making business that many of us have argued in the
past and signed off as obsolete, through his brilliant use of bright
colours – case in study is the stunning green suit with the black
shawl lapel and the red trench coat that singly elevates this
collection.
And lets face it, Praiz
might have really killed this campaign with his good looks and poses,
but what shines even brighter than him is the three piece perfectly
tailored brown suit he’s wearing.
